Appointments are encouraged so you will have the undivided attention of a bridal stylist and have a relaxing, enjoyable experience with your family and friends. The stylist will be able to answer all of your questions about the wedding gowns and assist in getting the right fit of the sample gowns.

ORDERING TAKES TIME

Wedding dresses can take anywhere from 4-6 months to make depending on the designer and the style. You should begin your wedding dress search anywhere from a year to nine months in advance to allow enough time for the alterations once the dress aeries. On average, a bride has 3-4 fittings to ensure the gown fits perfectly. If it’s less than nine months for you, don’t worry. The designers always have the option of faster delivery for a small fee. The Bridal Closet will work with our designers to find you your dream gown.

SET A BUDGET

Keep in mind the amount that you have allocated for your wedding dress. It is important to keep this in mind so you don’t risk falling in love with a dress that is over your budget.

KNOW YOUR STYLE

A bridal stylist will ask you questions about your personal style, and wedding dresses that you like. Do browse our designers websites, wedding blogs and Pinterest to find the styles that stand out to you. Don’t be afraid to bring in pictures of dresses you like. Just keep in mind that with pictures, that the ones you have may not be the ones you try on. The bridal stylist is looking at the cut, style and material, but you may not be trying on your exact pictures.

SHOPPING ENTOURAGE

Who you bring to see you try on wedding dresses is ultimately up to you. We suggest keeping your group to a limited number of family and friends who know your style and will give you honest opinions of the dresses you try. (Usually we recommend no more than 4 people). It can become overwhelming the more people you bring.

SPEAK UP

We want you to have the gown of your dreams! Bring in pictures of styles you love, so we can use that to find your dream gown. If you love a dress you try on, but just wish one thing was changed, let the stylist know. Wedding dresses can be customized to be truly yours.
